Christmas in Heaven is a large abstract painting inspired by a dream I had of Heaven on Christmas Eve, the night our little one passed away.

There were Christmas angels all around us, gathering the young and old at the foot of the throne. All were filled with eager anticipation to hear the greatest story ever told—The Christmas Story, proclaimed straight from the author Himself. All I could hear was the ethereal whir of angel wings, hustling and bustling about, preparing for the biggest celebration of the year, both in Heaven and on Earth.

From my mind’s eye, I painted. The gold in the upper left hand quadrant alludes to the Great Throne Room—where the King of Heaven reigns and sovereignly rules. The bold streaks of red and green splayed across the bottom right is a nod to all of the occupants of Heaven, gathering ‘round in joyful expectation.

The warmth that this dream brings during the holiday season cannot be expressed in words, only in paint strokes and candle light.

We have hope, an everlasting hope. Our King has come, let Heaven and Earth rejoice.
